ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Jack, and I am a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Journalism program at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Media and Integrated Marketing Communications. I graduated from Ithaca College in Upstate New York in the Spring of 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the prestigious Roy H. Park School of Communications. I was born and raised in Sandwich, Massachusetts, which is a town within the tourist hotspot of Cape Cod. I am a sports fanatic, especially regarding hockey and baseball. I played both sports growing up, and served as a captain in both my senior year in high school. I was also named a league all-star in baseball. I am a classic rock enthusiast, dog lover, and avid reader.
I have produced print, video, and audio content during my career and have experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro and Audition. I served as Sports Editor of Ithaca College’s newspaper, The Ithacan, and helped lead our coverage to win the Best Sports Coverage in 2019 by the New York State Press Association. More recently, I have been covering Big Ten athletics at Northwestern and also the city of Chicago itself. I attended Super Bowl LVI weekend and the Genesis Invitational with my Medill Explores program and was able to produce content from that site and learn about Los Angeles and how to cover an unfamiliar territory. I have produced numerous video packages and one documentary during my undergraduate and graduate studies and have hosted, provided interviews and read headlines for both radio stations at Ithaca College. Additionally, I served as a multimedia intern and specialist with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In this role I generated content, edited peers’ work, uploaded and ran the media portion of the team’s website and also contributed with photography and graphic design. I recently completed a podcast series for my thesis project and that is also linked above.
I am excited to join this industry, and hope you all will follow me on my journey!
